Appointed as Chairman of Singer Finance (Lanka) PLC with effect from 12th September 2026.

Mr. Antonio Jonathan Alles is a distinguished banking professional with over 37 years of experience in both local and international financial sectors. He previously served as the Managing Director and CEO of Hatton National Bank (HNB) PLC, a role he held from July 2013 following a series of senior leadership positions including Chief Operating Officer and Deputy CEO.

His extensive international banking career includes tenure at the National Bank of Abu Dhabi, Saudi British Bank in Riyadh, the British Bank of the Middle East, and HSBC across Dubai and Colombo.

A prominent industry leader, Mr. Alles served as Chairman of the Asian Bankers Association from 2018 to 2021. He also served as a Director of the Sri Lanka Banks Association and as its Chairman from 2013 to 2015. Mr. Alles currently holds Independent Non-Executive Directorships at United Motors Lanka PLC and Lion Brewery Ceylon PLC. Mr. Alles holds a First Class MBA in Finance from the University of Stirling, UK, and is an Associate Member of the Institute of Bankers of Sri Lanka.

Mrs. Hiranthi Suchitra De Silva was appointed as a Non-Executive Independent Director effective from 10th July 2024.

She has also been appointed as the Chairman of the Related Party Transaction Review Committee and as a member of the Nominations & Governance Committee and Integrated Risk Management Committee effective from 11th July 2024.

Mrs. De Silva has extensive experience in banking, having served in the industry for more than 36 years. In her career spanning 27 years at Sampath Bank she held multiple positions covering all areas relating to banking operations and credit, progressing to focus on Corporate Credit and was Deputy General Manager Corporate Credit at the time of resignation. She thereafter served as the Senior Vice President Wholesale Banking at Union Bank of Colombo until her retirement in 2024. She holds an MBA from Edith Cowen University Australia.

Mr. Thushan Amarasuriya was promoted to the position of Managing Director with effect from 1 January 2026. He was previously appointed as Chief Executive Officer on 1 July 2018 and brings over 20 years of management experience spanning the FMCG, consumer goods marketing, finance, and leasing industries.

He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA – UK), an Associate Member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA – UK), a Certified Global Management Accountant (CGMA), and a Chartered Member of the Institute of Marketing. He holds an MBA from the University of Leicester, UK, and is an Honorary Member of the Sri Lanka Institute of Credit Management.

Prior to joining Singer Finance, Mr. Amarasuriya held several senior positions at Singer India Retail, Singer (Sri Lanka) PLC, and Cargills Food City. He also serves in honorary capacities as Trustee and Treasurer of the Saukyadana Movement and as Senior Vice President of the Mercantile Cricket Association.

Joined the Board of Singer Finance (Lanka) PLC on 21 February 2019.

Mr. Mahesh Wijewardene has been appointed as an Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of Singer (Sri Lanka) PLC and its subsidiaries with effect from 1 November 2018. Mr. Wijewardene holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Southern Queensland, where he was awarded the Dean’s Award for outstanding academic achievement. He also holds a Diploma in General Management from the Open University of Sri Lanka. Mr. Wijewardene is a former Chairman of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce – Imports Section and the Sri Lanka-China Business Council and is a member of the Hayleys Group Management Committee.

Mr. Mahesh Wijewardene previously served as an Alternate Director on the Board of Singer (Sri Lanka) PLC from 1 June 2006 to 31 October 2018.

Joined the Board of Singer Finance (Lanka) PLC on 9 March 2021.

Mr. De Silva is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, UK, an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Sri Lanka and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, UK. He has extensive experience in various industries in the fields of finance, sales and marketing and general management, both in Sri Lanka and abroad, and has held a number of responsible positions in reputable companies.

Mr. Ranil De Silva has previously served on the boards of the Singer Group and is currently a Director of Central Industries PLC, Hayleys Leisure PLC, The Autodrome PLC and Lanka Shipping & Logistics (Pvt) Ltd.

Mr. Saman Herath joined the Board of Singer Finance (Lanka) PLC on 2 September 2021.

He has over 40 years of experience in the banking and pharmaceutical industries.

Mr. Herath retired as a Senior Deputy General Manager of Sampath Bank in 2015 and later served as the Managing Director of Siyapatha Finance until the end of his tenure in 2019. After leaving Siyapatha Finance in 2021.

Mr. Herath is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, UK (FCMA, UK) and a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA, UK). He is an Associate Member of the Institute of Bankers of Sri Lanka

She joined the Board of Singer Finance (Lanka) PLC on 7 December 2017. Ms. Thalpahewa joined the Hayleys Group in January 2010 and was appointed to the Group Management Committee in November 2015. She is responsible for Human Resources, Legal Services, Corporate Communications and Sustainability for the Hayleys Group. She serves as a Director of Hayleys Group Services (Pvt) Ltd. and HJS Condiments Ltd. Ms. Thalpahewa holds an LL.B. from the University of Colombo and is a First Class Honours Barrister at Law from the Sri Lanka Law School. She holds a Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management from the University of Northampton and a Master’s Degree in International Relations and Law from the University of Colombo.

Mr. Dhammika Siriwardena was appointed as a Non-Executive Independent Director with effect from 22 April 2024. He has been appointed as the Chairman of the Audit Committee, the Human Resources and Remuneration Committee, and a member of the Related Party Transactions Review Committee and the Joint Risk Committee. The Management Committee will be effective from 11 July 2024.

Mr. Siriwardena was previously the Deputy Group CEO of Hayleys Group. He has extensive experience in the fields of finance, strategic planning, management auditing, insurance and fund management in a career spanning over 35 years.
